Why should Pay Attention to these Points?
The UPS should be kept away from the heat source
The environment temperature can exert a huge influence on the UPS. Research shows that the accumulator of the UPS should work under the environment temperature ranging from 10° to 25°. When the environment temperature rises, the battery’s intrinsic storage service life will be shortened gradually.
The environment temperature should not be too low. If the temperature is too low, such as lower than 5℃, the electricity released by the battery will be largely reduced. Besides, it is very important to keep the working environment of the UPS clean. When the UPS is working at a turbid environment, the hazardous dust floating in the air might enter the UPS, causing corrosion or short circuit of the internal devices, an then impeding normal operation of the UPS or even damaging it.
UPS requires periodical maintenance.
Under normal conditions, the UPS should be checked and have the terminal voltage and resistance of its battery measured once every four to six months. If the terminal voltage of every battery is lower than the minimum critical voltage or the battery resistance is larger than 80mΩ, the equalizing charge or battery exchange is required.
If the electric power experience no blackout for a long period of time, then the manual blackout should be organized once periodically to allow the UPS to fully discharge with the load. In this way, the UPS can work for a period of time under the inversion of the power source, and the accumulator’s discharging and charging capacity can be activated to lengthen its service life.
It can be seen that, when the user is using the UPS and wants to make better use of the UPS, there are many aspects requiring attention. Apart from what is mentioned above, the user should also pay attention to the lightning protection, wireless electricity interference resistance, and resistance to other factors which might disturb favorable operation of the UPS.
